(1) to shake hands 握手
講解:to shake hands 這個片語 hands 要複數,因為握手至少要有兩隻手。另外,握手的名詞是 handshake。一般握手是由男性主動,女性似乎比較少用握手問候。

講解:to look out 是小心、注意的意思,相當於 to watch out 的用法,是不可分開片語。如果是從哪裡往外看,可以用片語 to look out of 。這兩個片語如果後接名詞,用介系詞 for。

(3) to think of 想到,想出;認為
講解:to think of 是想到、想出的意思,當「認為」時等於 to think about 的用法,不可分開片語。

(4) to get back 回到
講解:to get back 中的 back 是副詞,後接 from 表示從什麼地方回來,後接 to 是回到某地方,回到家不用 to,因為 home 這裡是當「地方副詞」。另外,get back 也當「取回」的意思,例如 get my money back,先接名詞,再接 back。

(5) to catch a cold 感染感冒
講解:to catch a cold 這個片語使用 catch 是強調「感染」了感冒,如果只是說某人感冒了,用 to have a cold 即可。

(6) to make up one's mind 下定決心
講解:to make up one's mind 後常用不定詞 to + V ,或者用介系詞 about 再接受詞。這個片語相當於動詞 decide (決定) 的用法,但更強調個人的意志。one's 指所有格,如 my, your, his, her, our...等等

講解:to change one's mind 指一個人改變決定或是想法,後可接介系詞 about。one's 指所有格,如 my, your, his, her, our...等等

講解:for the time being 為時間副詞,是暫時、目前的意思

(9) to get over 恢復;復原
講解:to get over 指生病或是受傷之後的復原,後面直接加受詞,不可分開片語。這個片語相當於動詞 recover 的用法,但 recover 要接 from + 名詞。要問候生病的人,用 feel 這個單字,回答時,如果是身體健康變好了,用片語 to get better,請參考例句。

講解:to calll off 就是動詞 cancel 的用法,是不可分開片語,後接名詞,但如果是接代名詞 it, them 則必須放在片語中間,例如 call it off 用法。
